£30,000 secured for Bristol cyclist injured by careless van driver.

Posted in Injury, Road accidents

Mark Hambleton and his team successfully settled a cycling accident claim for £30,000 for injuries sustained by our client as a result of being knocked off their bike by a motorist in central Bristol.

In March 2022 our client was cycling through Stokes Croft towards the Bear Pit. A car, driven by the defendant, pulled out from a bus stop on our client’s side of the road. The driver’s side of the car struck our client causing them to go over the bonnet of the car, landing in front of the vehicle.

As a result of the collision, our client’s primary injuries were fractures to their left wrist and right collarbone. Following left wrist surgery, our client has experienced some persistent issues affecting his wrist and around his shoulder. Fortunately, they have made a good recovery overall and they have a good prognosis.

The injuries suffered by our client affected their family life and their ability to work as normal, running their own business.

Mark Hambleton and our specialist cycling accident team worked with a specialist medical expert to assess the prognosis for our client’s injuries, and successfully settled the claim for £30,000, inclusive of pain, suffering and loss of amenity and associated financial losses.

Our client added:

I was not disappointed with Mark and his team. They successfully supported me where needed to achieve the best outcome for my case."
