Former Cape Asbestos employee receives compensation following diagnosis of mesothelioma

Mr K was employed by Cape Building Products Ltd in 1962/63 as an oven operative and labourer at their factory in Cowley, Middlesex. Asbestos was widely present throughout the fabric of the building and used to make the products produced.

During his employment, Mr K worked with Asbestos Insulation Board (“AIB”), which were manufactured by a large machine. They were then put onto a large pallet and transferred to a drying area. Mr K’s job involved transferring the boards he was exposed to asbestos dust in the process.

A successful claim was brought against Cape Building Products Ltd on behalf of Mr K following his diagnosis with mesothelioma in 2022. The claim was handled by Rachel Hicks, an Associate in our specialist asbestos disease team.
