RWK Goodman appointed to advise on the liquidation of Store Twenty One
UK Top 100 law firm RWK Goodman has been instructed to advise on the compulsory liquidation of a national chain of 122 clothing retail shops, known as Store Twenty One by its liquidators, Simon Bonney, Carl Jackson and Paul Zalkin of corporate recovery and business advisory firm Quantuma.
Store Twenty One has been in a battle for survival since last summer when it struggled to attract investment and had to close around 80 shops following a Company Voluntary Arrangement. This week, the High Court ordered that the company be placed into liquidation following a petition by HMRC and the remaining 122 stores closed with the loss of 900 jobs.
Stewart Wilkinson, lead partner in the London office of RWK Goodman and a member of the firm’s banking and insolvency team, said: “We will be working closely with the liquidators to advise and assist them in the orderly winding up of the business across its various stores."
RWK Goodman’s Stewart Wilkinson, Ashok Patel, Milan Kapadia, Gemma Dreyfuss and Tim Newcombe are acting for the liquidators.
