About Paula
Paula is a Partner in the Property Disputes team in our Oxford office with over 20 years’ experience of contentious property matters.
Paula’s clients include property owners, occupiers, developers and well-known names in the Retail and Hospitality sectors. She adopts a commercial approach and seeks to resolve disputes efficiently and cost effectively by alternative dispute resolution to include mediation, expert determination and neutral evaluation.
Paula advises on a wide range of property disputes including:

- breaches of lease and remedies

Business lease renewals
Paula has particular expertise and a wealth of experience in acting for both landlords and tenants in unopposed and opposed lease renewals under the Landlord and Tenant Act 1954.

Defending against adverse possession claim
Dealt with a complex adverse possession claim before the Adjudicator to HM Land Registry regarding land in a remote hamlet in the Lake District; represented owners of the properties in the remote hamlet and succeeded in resisting the adverse possession claim to the wastes in the centre of the hamlet.

Acted for defendants in Griffin v Wainwright and another [2017] EWHC 2122 (CH) and succeeded in setting aside, for procedural unfairness, an expert determination that had taken place.
