About Simon:

Simon is a Partner in our Dispute Resolution team, based in our Bristol office.

Simon leads our Dispute Resolution team in the South West across our offices in Bristol and Bath.  Simon focuses on high value and complex matters and aims to provide his clients clear, commercial and practical advice.

Simon understands the importance of understanding his client’s businesses and their objectives.   Simon is very approachable and is quick to understand the unique characteristics of each of his clients’ disputes, enabling  him to implement the most effective strategy at an early stage and get the best possible outcome.

Simon was born and raised in Yorkshire but has spent most of his career in Bristol.  Prior to joining RWK in February 2025 Simon worked as a senior lawyer within a Top 100 Law Firm VWV in Bristol.

Experience:

  • Acting on behalf of independent school against firm of architects regarding allegations of negligent structural design in recently constructed modern school teaching building.
  • Successfully concluded trial representing noteholders in their claim against the bond series issuer and sponsor for their alleged breaches of contract and fiduciary duty relating to £20M unsecured note issue;
  • Advising University concerning contractual dispute relating to termination of contact with employee pensions system provider;
  • Successfully concluded mediation for utilities company against building contractors for damage and interference with underground services ;
  • Successfully concluded settlement meeting when acting behalf of well-known surf brand in relation to alleged breaches of deferred payment obligations under share purchase agreement.
  • Advising shareholders in national supplier of school equipment in relation to breaches of shareholder agreement and s.994 unfair prejudice petition.
  • Advising ‘start up’ company on termination of director and treatment of shares following alleged misconduct and breaches of statute and fiduciary duty.
  • Advising prominent Bristol charity on proposed sale of charity assets and threatened injunctive application on behalf of minority shareholders.
